Exam season is when high-tech cheating devices appear the most: phones sharing hotspots, button cameras and tiny earpieces connected over WiFi. This guide explains how to monitor exam rooms with spectrum sensors.
Step 1: Baseline survey before the exam
Scan for 24 hours before exam day to record every “normal” signal around you (the school network, nearby households) and add them to the trusted list.
Step 2: Place the sensors
Install one sensor in the center of each exam room ceiling. For large halls, use at least three sensors to locate devices down to the desk row.
Step 3: Monitor during the exam
Any new strong signal appearing inside the room triggers an alert on the invigilator’s phone with an estimated location.
Step 4: Keep the evidence
Full logs with time, MAC address and signal strength can be exported to PDF as evidence for handling violations.
